Gapwatch

Docs

Gapwatch compares where each Robinhood Stock Token trades on chain with its last regular US close, and looks up how gaps of that size played out over ten years of daily bars. It reads public data and holds nothing.

The on-chain price

For each of the 27 Stock Tokens Gapwatch asks Uniswap's QuoterV2 what $100 of USDG buys and what $100 worth of the token sells for, through the pool the token trades in (USDG directly, or USDG to WETH for COIN, MSTR and SPY). The price shown is the middle of the two, so the pool fee counts once on each side.

The board refreshes every two minutes. Chainlink's price is shown next to it as a second opinion: when the pool and Chainlink agree, the gap is real; when they don't, the pool is thin or behind.

The last close

Daily bars come from Yahoo Finance through the site's own endpoint, cached for six hours. The last close is the newest finished regular session: while the US market is open, today's bar is still moving, so the board uses the one before it.

The gap

gap = on-chain price ÷ last close − 1. With the market closed it is the gap the next open is heading into. During the session it shows where the token trades against yesterday's close.

The history

For every day in ten years of bars: the open against the close before it, whether the day's range touched that close again (the gap "closed"), and the move from the open to the close. Gaps like the current one are those in the same direction, between half and twice its size, with 0.25% as the smallest size.

Stocks listed less than ten years ago show what they have; the start year is printed with the numbers.
